Founder and Managing Director
The story behind SAKKHO and Sakkho Teak Tiles
As the founder and Managing Director of Sakkho, Joseph Nyamuka is responsible for the development and the overall management of the business.
Joseph first worked in a small sized company in the private sector as a Sales & e-Commerce Marketing Manager creating his own department from scratch in Melbourne, Australia. The Internet Sales Department created was quickly incorporated into an entity on its own in early 2000 due to high volume of sales generated. Joseph moved to General Manager directing all levels of the business from which he gained a strong experience trading with industrial tools and machinery, marketing, staff management, product compliance and importing from Asia; directly interacting with large factory owners based in China.
Joseph Nyamuka was the first in Australia and probably in the world to identify a market opportunity with eBay The World's Online Market Place® by auctioning high priced industrial tools, machines and All Terrain Vehicles (ATV) at 0.99 cents starting price, unreserved auction using market forces, high web-viewers traffic to achieve high selling prices. His marketing strategy and management skills led the company to be voted amongst the top Australian/New Zealand internet Power Sellers in 2006 in Sydney, Australia, generating a significant turnover in less than a year and a half having started the business from zero in 2004.
Joseph's vision and marketing strategy led to a "boom" from 2004 to 2008 seeing eBay Australia becoming the main Australian market place to trade with high value industrial tools, machinery and ATV; turning into a marketing strategy followed by all large online professional sellers Australia/New Zealand wide to quickly spread to a worldwide market trend leading the production of industrial tools, machinery, and ATV industries in China and Taiwan to skyrocket during this period.
During his experience, Joseph was heavily involved in software development and was one of the first internet sellers to identify the need and benefits for a revolutionary and detailed, freight management, customer service and cost management computer software/system directly working with the eBay API, live data and linked to other existing software which about five percent only were subsequently completed and used without his permission for commercial purpose.
Joseph has great respect for people he considers his mentors and advisors throughout his professional experience, particularly Rodney Deboos, Partner at Davies Collison Cave, former Chairman (Intellectual Property) for the Trade Practices and Intellectual Property Committees of the Law Council of Australia also International President for the Licensing Executives Society in 1998; his friend and school Professor, Alain Baents who taught him French Literature and ethics; and his dear friend and mentor Ania Kunicka teaching him certain principles of life and psychology.
Joseph lived in 5 different countries in Africa, Australia, Eastern and Western Europe and travelled to over 20 countries from North America to Asia. He speaks three languages and understands one African dialect.
He holds a Bachelor of Business in International Trade & Commercial Law from Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia where he immigrated in 1999; he does graphic design and he is also a computer software and e-Commerce expert.
Sakkho Begins
After making his own decision to leave the tools and machinery sector to focus this time on securing his own business venture with his own ideas and creations, it took Joseph a necessary self-learning curve of ten months to understand the inside of various industries relevant to Sakkho's business: the timber and flooring industry, graphic design, furniture design, interior design, building, architecture and others as well as familiarizing himself with related governmental regulations in the view to show how versatile Sakkho teak tiles are, "speak the same language professionals do", create a corporate image and offer something new once more.
Sakkho started humbly early 2008 supplying various clients from smaller reputable businesses to top Australian based internet sellers with a range of traditional teak products.
Sakkho teak tiles and the first ever SAKKHO Avionics 100C prototype designed, manufactured by hand in Australia were initially presented and launched in front of fourteen thousand professionals in May 2009 at Design-Ex, Australasia's number one exhibition for commercial and residential interior, architecture and design; held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Joseph believes Sakkho teak tiles or timber tiles used at this industrial level for endless, indoor or outdoor, two or three dimensional applications to become a new era in landscaping, architectural and interior design; idea and vision, which given the time, should once more be followed and used around the world.
"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to
all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world,
and all there ever will be to know and understand." - Albert Einstein
